The Impliers present: The Magic
An album premiere and shared listening experience.
Join us to celebrate the release of our new album, The Magic, with its first public listening at The Bug Theatre.
Saturday January 23, 2027 • The Bug Theatre, Denver
Doors 6:30 PM • Starts 7:00 PM • Out by 9:30 PM$20 admission · $30 with the CD · Limited SeatingWhy we’re doing this
We’ve been craving more connected experiences. We’re tired of endless scrolling, music becoming a background activity, and constantly checking our phones. We miss getting people in a room together. We miss listening to an album from beginning to end. And from talking to our friends, we know we’re not alone.
So we decided to build a night around that feeling.
On January 23, we’re getting together at The Bug Theatre to hear The Magic before its February 25 streaming release. And we’ll have you out by 9:30 so you still have your night.
About the album
We spent five years crafting the vision, music, and lyrics for this record, and the result is what we call an “audio movie.” Like a film with no picture, it’s designed to be heard from beginning to end, a story with a beginning, a middle and an end. Much like albums such as The Wall, good kid, m.A.A.d city, or The Downward Spiral. It’s our most intricate, complete, and personal work yet.
The Magic follows a relationship from its first spark, tells both sides through songs and conversations, and asks an uncomfortable question:
“What if I’m a big part of the problem?”
It’s about the things we all experience but rarely say out loud. It’s funny, heavy, honest, and filled with ups and downs. Musically, it’s built around melodic, often danceable indie pop, moving through synth-pop, dream pop, yacht rock, darkwave, psychedelic, and ambient to match the feelings being explored.
On February 25, it lands in a music streaming world of shuffle, notifications, and ads. January 23 is our chance to hear it the way it was designed, beginning to end on a large sound system.
The evening’s schedule
6:30 PM Doors. Grab a snack, beer, or wine at the concessions stand.
7:00 PM Special guests. Mystery surprises. On-stage comedy and a short film about the making of The Magic.
7:30 PM Lights down. The record plays through the speakers, start to finish. Lyrics will be projected throughout for anyone who wants to follow along. Or close your eyes and let the record do the rest.
8:45 PM Lights up. A quick fireside chat with The Impliers about the record, followed by audience questions.
9:15 PM Formal program ends. Grab some merch, say hi, hang around for a bit, or head out. Afterward, anyone who wants to keep the night going and meet other like-minded people is invited to join us at a bar a few blocks away.
Get comfortable
Blankets and eye masks welcome. We ask that phones are off for the album portion of the event so we can all be fully present.
Take the album home
Take the album home on CD for just $10 at the event. CDs are $15 through all other purchase methods, plus shipping where applicable. The digital album will be available exclusively on Bandcamp starting January 29 before arriving on all streaming services February 25.
Note to Mixed Messages fans:
While this album is the full story explored in Mixed Messages, this is a different type of event. There’ll be comedy and film to start, but the heart of this night is over an hour of listening to music. Our next event in that style is coming soon. Stay tuned.
